Erin & Terra are proud to provide a partnership model of doula care. They offer professional doula support, lactation counseling, and childbirth education services in and around the Twin Cities. With a combined 18 years of experience in caring for families, their goal is to provide seamless emotional support, physical comfort, advocacy through mediation, as well as the evidence-based information you need to feel empowered to make informed decisions before, during and after your birth. Doulas provide support for all births, whether medicated, unmedicated, vaginal or caesarean. They work to get to know you and your goals so that they can provide appropriate comfort measures, suggestions, knowledge, and emotional support throughout your pregnancy and labor.
Terra Peterson Jonker
Terra started Doula Minnesota to support families from all walks of life. Trained in Bali, Indonesia with DONA International, she has worked with doulas from 13 different countries and supported over 160 births across the Twin Cities since early 2015. With a strong background in healthcare related non-profits, she spent 5 years providing support to families and children through her work at Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest prior to entering the birth world. Terra is a trained Prenatal and Baby Yoga teacher and started providing Postpartum Doula services in 2017 after training with Childbirth International. She is a Childbirth Educator at Blooma and teaches both 4 week and express childbirth education courses. Her passion for supporting families led her to start Doula Minnesota LLC in 2017 and she is thrilled to continue to offer professional doula and prenatal yoga services across Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Terra lives in an old St. Paul farmhouse with her partner and rambunctious 4 month old son, Harrison. In her free time you will find her outdoors exploring nature with Harrison, reading, baking far too many sweets, or daydreaming about travel. Terra is passionate about continuing to learn better ways to serve the community and promote just care for all in the birth world. It is her greatest honor to work with families as they welcome their little ones and she hopes to be able to provide evidence-based, compassionate care in the Twin Cities for many years to come.
